It is a fine thing to be able to write directly from Costa Rica, with the bustle of Prisma Dental all around me. It is the rainy season here but we are having wind rather than rain. Everyone complains about it. That’s what weather is for, right?
But it is hard to complain about the view from the rear, open air porch here on the third floor of the Prisma building near Paseo Colon in the Rohrmoser section of San Jose. To me it’s a beautiful, breezy day.
I arrived yesterday, a long flight from Logan Airport in Boston, with a stop in Houston. But it was my least expensive trip ever — a little more than $300, round trip, on Continental. I am used to Spirit being the least expensive airline between the northeast U.S. and central America. Not this week, it isn’t.
I’m staying at the Hotel Sabana B&B, a short walk from Prisma. It’s family-run, clean, secure, comfy and, most importantly, has a good breakfast and free wifi. I needed both this morning.
Already, I’ve spoken with a number of dental patients from the U.S. But for the moment, let’s enjoy the view.
