Anyone who reads the Prisma blog or follows Prisma Dental on Facebook knows that we get a lot of email from patients with whom we’ve been privileged to work. Last week we got a very special letter on Facebook from Don, a Phd from Houston, Texas, who shared his experience in Costa Rica with us and all his friends. We thought we would add it to the blog, though we’ve edited the message to protect patient privacy.
If, however, you want to ask Don or any of our other patients about what it’s like to have major dental work in Costa Rica at Prisma Dental, we urge you to join us on Facebook, where we have (as of this moment) 895 “friends,” most of them patients, many of them from the United States, Canada and around the world.
Here’s Don’s message.
Hello everyone,
I have been off of Facebook until today. Many of you knew I went to Costa Rica last year. I went for an extended stay and I had to have dental work done. In this photo I look like I am recovering from a few too many at the local Catina. However, I have one beautiful smile! I have so many people to thank, but most of all Dr. Rubinstein and the wonderful staff at Prisma Dental in San Jose, Costa Rica. Not only did I have excellent dental care, I would have to say without a doubt Costa Rica’s people know the true meaning of “Love for Others.”
Everyone I met were indeed enthusiastic to make you welcome. When I came home, what can I say — I greet individuals differently, I make an extended effort with gratitude, a beautiful smile, and sunshine in my soul … Which I found in a little country in Central America. By all means everyone should put Costa Rica on their travel agenda. It is most affordable and a country that knows how to slow down and enjoy life.
If you need extensive dental work you will find no place more qualified with the state of the art equipment and staff than Prisma Dental.
In closing: If anyone of your family or friends need a referral , do not hesitate to contact me on Facebook or by email. I have all the contact information available. Going to a new country is hectic enough, you will need someone to look after you if you are there for medical. I have the contact person for you.
It is a must to have a contact person and I know the best person in Costa Rica and his company specializes in medical tourism. Many North Americans chooseCosta Rica for extended medical treatment, about 85 percent of Prisma Dental Clients are from North America (Why? Because we have the worst dental insurance on the planet.)
A crown in the U.S. costs about 1200/1400 dollars. In Costa Rica it is about 450/550 and yes they do take credit cards in case you are wondering. I love my dentist here in the U.S., I have had the same dentist for 17 years; However, the facts are, I personally needed major work. I had three different dental specialist look at fixing my teeth. They wanted in the range of 50-60 thousand dollars. That is what sent me out of the country for dental care.
I came home with 26 of the best porcelain crowns that money could purchase. I wanted the best without breaking the bank. I also had to have dental surgery which I had not budgeted and the total cost was appoximately one third what it would have been in the U.S.
The other plus, I had a vacation to go with it.
The very best to all my friends here on Facebook . Do not forget if you need a referral let me know. I would be very happy to put you in contact with the individuals to take care of all your needs in Costa Rica.
Respectful Regards,
Don R.
Houston, Texas
