Medical travel for major dental work, plastic surgery and other medical care continues to be in the news in the United States. On Friday evening, Jeff Schult, author of Beauty from Afar, (me, in other words) was interviewed about the subject on the Your Time with Kim syndicated talk radio program. Here’s the segment:

So anyway, I was specifically curious about which cities in the United States produced the most searches for “dental implants” over the last year, and here they are:

We hope all our friends are having a great summer and want to remind folks that now is a terrific time to be planning your late-summer or autumn trip to Costa Rica. Even in August, round-trip airfares from New York to San Jose, Costa Rica can be had for about $400. Many people find the best time to go to Costa Rica, though, is autumn — after summer vacation but before the high season begins in December. (Check our airlines post for links)

Prisma dentists and staff are participating this week in the first Latin American Global Medicine and Wellness Congress this week in San Jose, Costa Rica. Prospective patients are advised to shiop around for airfares; you can get seasonal bargains and unadvertised specials. Today, for example, using AirFareWatchDog.com, I see roundtrip flights to San Jose from Chicago at $236; from Los Angeles at $249; from New York at $288 on Mexicana. No doubt there are some restrictions; but good fares can be found.

We have no comment on the political controversy, but we appreciate the recognition of the quality of health care in Costa Rica. Mr. Limbaugh is welcome to stop by Prisma Dental for a checkup any time.

Costa Rica’s International Festival of the Arts starts tomorrow! Artists from all over the world will be singing, dancing and telling tales inside dozens of the theaters in San Jose, Alajuela and Limon and outside in Parque La Sabana in San Jose.
