The Editor and Blog Coordinator

There is a reason that there are not that many good blogs about dental care in the world. Most terrific dentists are far too busy taking care of patients to sit down and write on a regular basis, and that is certainly true of Drs. Josef Cordero and Telma Rubinstein.

I talked them into this because I think it will be a valuable resource for dental patients around the world. I first visited Prisma Dental in San Jose, Costa Rica in 2004 and had extensive dental work that I could not afford in the United States.

I wrote about my experience in a magazine article that received a terrific response from readers; four years later, I still get e-mail and letters thanking me for it. That article led to my getting to write a book about traveling overseas for high-quality, lower cost medical/dental/health care and cosmetic and other surgery. Beauty from Afar was published in mid-2006. My dentists — my friends — Telma and Josef, and their work, were of course featured in the book.

Before | AfterI still wince a little when I look at the “Before” in my “Before and After” dental pictures, and I think anyone who looks at the photos can understand why I am grateful to Prisma for the work they did.

As the result of writing a book about medical travel, I’ve had the opportunity to travel many places and see a lot of fine medical facilities around the world. As dental facilities go, Prisma is second to none; and Telma and Josef are the dentists I recommend to friends, familiy and to anyone who asks me.

The content in this blog will largely be produced by me and other patients of Prisma Dental, and I welcome contributions from patients past, present and future. We will endeavor to answer any questions that come up. When we don’t know the answer, we will of course consult our dentists.

Enough for now. Josef, Telma and I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Jeff Schult
