News 14 Carolina and Prisma Dental

News 14 Carolina, with Ivanhoe Newswire, did a news feature last week on medical travel that featured Jeff Schult talking about his dental work in Costa Rica, along with patients who went outside of the U.S. for life-saving surgeries because they were uninsured.

Here is the original story with video.

Though the story did not directly mention Prisma Dental — that is where he had his work done, of course.

Though many American patients come to Prisma because they cannot afford the U.S. prices for the extensive dental work they need, sometimes at least some of the dental care is covered by insurance. At Prisma, we help patients with the forms they need for reimbursement from their U.S. insurers.

Josef and Telma

Telma Rubinstein and Josef Cordero have been my dentists for ten years now. They came highly recommended by my plastic surgeon, Dr. Alejandro Lev, also from San Jose, Costa Rica.

I discovered the Costa Rican medical community by accident eleven years ago when I was wanting a facelift, but couldn’t afford the prices in Los Angeles where I live. It was suggested I look into the Costa Rica medical community and as crazy as that sounded, I went online and did some exploring. I found this amazing plastic surgeon for whom I now work as his patient coordinator for U.S. patients, and then through Dr. Lev’s recommendation, I found Telma and Josef and Prisma Dental — whom I highly recommend to all of our U.S. patients.

I even have included them on our website terminallyvain.com. Most of the patients I book for plastic surgery with Dr. Lev, I also book for dental work with Telma and Josef at Prisma and the patients end up getting both things done in the same trip. By the end of their two-week stay, they go home looking ten years younger with a Prisma Dental smile that puts the perfect finishing touch on their new face.

My husband and daughter also go to Prisma. They fly to Costa Rica from California for all their dental work. Telma and Josef are our personal family dentists. They are not only the best dentists we’ve ever known, but they are the nicest, most wonderful people you’d ever want to meet. After all these years, they are not only our family dentists, they have become our very dear family friends.
