So last night, Prisma Dental’s international patient coordinator, Tiffany Kofroth, had the brilliant idea of putting Prisma on Facebook to provide a friendly place for friends and past, present and future patients to interact, share their stories, get questions answered and generally mingle. By this morning, Prisma already had 114 friends — just a fraction of the thousands of people over the years who have had dental work done at the clinic in San Jose, but pretty astonishing for just 12 hours!

Among the pleasures of visiting the Prisma clinic in person is getting to meet staff members in person who were not here on my last trip. Prisma expanded its practice to include pediatric dentistry last year and of course we wrote about that here, but it was not until today that I got to meet the lovely and talented Dr. Diana Fishman.

The No. 1 medical tourism dental site in the world, according to Alexa.com, is Prisma Dental. Alexa is probably the top company for measuring global Internet traffic.

I spoke this morning with Aaron, a retiree from South Carolina and a fellow who or dental work and cannot say enough about how pleased he is with his decision to come to Prisma Dental. Aaron, originally from Michigan, said he was “blown away” when he first walked into the clinic.

Prospective dental patients at Prisma are urged always to contact the office and schedule appointments before making final travel arrangements.

It is a fine thing to be able to write directly from Costa Rica, with the bustle of Prisma Dental all around me. It is the rainy season here but we are having wind rather than rain. Everyone complains about it. That’s what weather is for, right?
